biography
Growing up in Roseburg, Oregon gave me an appreciation for the materiality of wood and a desire to learn about the rest of the World. Attending the University of Oregon offered a chance to expand my Design vocabulary, including school in Rome, Italy. After a Bachelor in Architecture, a full scholarship through a Masters of Architecture allowed exploration into Delivery Methods and business aspects of Architecture.
After the degrees, working in London, England allowed me to understand why and how other cultures embrace durability. Being involved with the formation of The Living Building Challenge allowed exploration into sustainability.
Focusing on Enclosures my entire career, it expanded from lessons in Design with GBD Architects, to data driven design with SERA Architects. Speaking nationally and practicing on a wide range of complex projects helped to expand the experience base.
Ten years at Ankrom allowed me to develop numerous enclosure tools and processes, requested to speak nationally and internationally, present about a dozen times per year, and add information to the Field of Knowledge twice in our Construction Industry.
